Last weekend The Sicheneders invited us to come play and check out their Cows. I wasn't sure what Robbie was going to think. We got close enough but I think he would have loved to have gotten even closer. As you can see in the pictures, it's a bit wet so we didn't want to sink in the mud or poo to get closer. Kent reached as far as he could and Robbie LOVED every minute of it! I think he mastered his "moo" thanks to hearing those real cows on their farm. Thanks again guys!! Squirts, Colleen's baby all grown up. She hand fed this one!! This cow loves to be by people, the others, not so much!

Kent's Grandma Evelyn came to stay with us for a few days. Robbie absolutely loved playing with Evelyn. She always got right in there with him, putting on hats, reading, singing and dancing. Happy Fall Everyone! We have been doing a few things when we catch time on the weekends to celebrate fall. Here are some of the pictures to show you the fun we have been having. Enjoy! Robbie sure is growing up fast. He is running around everywhere keeping both of us on our toes. He loves to get into things he shouldn't be. We have to keep a constant eye on him. Looking forward to having a relaxing Halloween this year. Robbie is going to dress up as a Tiger or Cheetah. We'll be sure to share pictures of the festivities. That's all for now.

It's been so long since I have taken the time to update everyone. We have had such a crazy summer. Lots going on-- Just like everyone else. We attended the 4th of July festivities in St. Peter. Attended the Nicollet County fair, attended my aunt and uncle's 50th wedding anniversary and went to a wedding at a camp (Robbie's first over night outdoors experience--in a dorm/cabin). Lots of fun things. Can't believe fall is already here! Here are some of the fun pictures of how he continues to grow and all the fun things we did this summer! oh, yeah, also, Kent went on a Trip of Lifetime to Norway to visit his friend who lives there!! Memorial Day Weekend and Robbie's First Hair Cut!

Memorial Day weekend I went down to St. Peter to celebrate Dad and Paula's Birthdays. The whole family was there. I missed out on the camping fun with all the Groetschs but made it down on Sunday to do the birthdays and have a sleepover at Grandpa's. We had a blast and Robbie got his first hair cut too! WOO-HOO! He looks so different. Enjoy some of the fun shots I got of the weekend. All the kids with Grandpa Pat and Auntie Paula celebrating their birthdays! On Sunday, we celebrated Robbie's birthday with my side of the family. Where does time go??? Thanks to all of my family for making the Trek up to Eden Prairie. Robbie was so excited to see all of you. He had such a fun day. He especially loved all the cake (see pictures below). He was a very lucky guy. He got some amazing gifts. Thanks again everyone for making Robbie's 1st birthday so memorable. Love you all!

We celebrated Robbie's 1st Birthday with the Olson Clan at our house. Everyone was there. It was great people, great food and really Good Times! Robbie made out with some great gifts. What a beautiful spring day in Eden Prairie. It was sunny and in the 70's. It was a great day to take Robbie out in the new Pull behind cart for the bike. (Thanks Sievers!!) He loves it...just as long as he doesn't have to wear a helmet. As you can see in the pictures below, his first concern was to try and get the helmet off. Kent and I gave in about 5 minutes into the ride and took the helmet off. We rode to the park and tried the swings. He couldn't stand those either... oh well, we'll give it another try ..maybe he'll like them by the summer. :) I just can't believe how much he has grown and learned so many things. He loves pulling himself up onto furniture and standing. He's getting pretty gutsy, so we think he'll start walking within in a few months...WATCH OUT! He already gets into EVERYTHING!! He sure keeps us on our toes! LOVE YOU LITTLE MAN....our lives are so full now with the joy you bring every day! Check out all the fun pictures below.

Peek-a-boo...who needs toys when you have simple household items?! So I didn't get any still pictures this Easter but we did get video. So I will do my best to post the video as soon as I can. :) We spent the day with the Mears side in Oakdale at my cousin's house and then went to the Olson side for dinner. So I have been very bad at keeping up with the blog so I thought I better try and catch up on a few things. Robbie continues to keep Kent and I VERY busy. He's starting to pull himself up on all kinds of furniture and moving constantly. He loves doing the army crawl because he can get to what he wants much faster. We spend the 20th March with Kent's sister and her family. Her daughter Katie celebrated her 5th birthday at the Holiday Inn in Lakeville. They have a great little water park and fabulous Restaurant attached. It was a great weekend, thanks again Linda and Jeff for inviting us!! Here are some of the pictures of the fun weekend! Happy Thanksgiving! Robbie will be 7 months old this weekend and he celebrated his first Thanksgiving a few days ago. We went over to Kent's Brother and Sister-in-law's house. They had some great food after Grandpa Glen gave a very touching and emotional blessing. We have many things to be thankful for. Especially being blessed with such a giving and loving family! We are so glad Grandma and Grandpa Olson were able to share in another Thanksgiving. We are thankful that Grandpa Mears is doing well. Although we didn't get to see the Mears side for this Holiday I did get a chance to talk with everyone. I wasn't able to get a hold of Aunt Sara but did leave a message with her daughter to wish her a very Happy Thanksgiving and let her know how lucky we are that she is recovering well from her Stroke a few weeks ago! Keep up the hard work Aunt Sara...all that Physical Therapy, Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy will have you home soon! We love you!

He is sitting up now (with support) and he is rolling like crazy. He REALLY wants to start scooting or crawling. We are thinking it will happen any day now! Enjoy the pictures.

It's been awhile since we have posted any pictures. We finally have something to post...Halloween! Robbie dressed up as an 18 pound cow! :) We dressed him up, and put him in a pile of leaves with our GINORMOUS pumpkin. We ended up carving our pictures and they turned out great. Apple Orchard October 4, 2009

Although it wasn't the best weather, we decided to head to the apple orchard and pick some apples. I'm looking forward to the smell of apple pie on this chilly fall day. As he gets older, I know he'll love to go pick apples and pumpkins every fall like we do! Here are some of the pictures, enjoy!

A few weekends ago, we went the Rockbend Folk Festival in St. Peter with Stef, Stephen and Audrey. That was such a fun night. Thanks guys! ; Here's a picture of Miss Audrey...so dang adorable!!! Here is a half smile. Everytime she woud smile I would try to catch it with the camera but always missed it!

Here is a shot of Robbie after playing under Audrey's Gym....he was so tired! If you look closely, the monkey is actually touching his face. He fell asleep like that. TOO FUNNY!

Robbie will be Five months next week. I'm sure we'll have a lot more pictures to show everyone. With fall here, you all know that I love taking pictures. Robbie had his 4 month well visit on Sept. 1st. He was such a trooper. He was smiling and cooing for the Doctor. He then fell asleep while Kent and I asked a ton of questions. The nurse came in and said, "let's wake him up and get those shots." We woke him up and Kent held his arms down while he got 3 shots in both legs. He screamed for about 30 seconds but then Kent held him, put the Nuk in and put his blanket up by his face and he calmed down right away. After the big tears, he was actually smiling before we left the office. He was such a good boy! Here are some pictures of his thighs where he got the shots and put band-aids. He played for about an hour after getting home on the floor but then fell right to sleep. He did a lot of sleeping all day. He had a slight fever so we kept the Tylenol in him to keep that down.

We then got the green light to start trying solids. So she recommended that we start with rice cereal. Here are some shots of the attempt. I think it might take a little while but he wasn't gettin that he could eat it. I think he was getting frustrated. We'll just keep tryin! Check back for more updates! He's getting to be so fun!

4 months old this week!

In the top picture, he's about 2 months old. The one below that, he's about 4 months old. He's starting to out -grow pooh....

Robbie will be 4 months old this week. He has had some busy weekends. After Valleyfair it was the Nicollet County Fair. He got to hang out with his cousins and aunties walking around the fair while mom and dad went to the demo derbie and tractor pull. We were all so tired (Robbie doesn't sleep too well when he's not in his own bed) that we came home Saturday. It has been a very relaxing weekend since we got home. Here are some pictures to show you how much he has grown. He goes in for his 4 month doctor visit on Sept. 1st. We'll keep you posted.

First Trip to Valleyfair

The whole gang went to Valleyfair on Sunday. It was in celebration for Erin's 14th Birthday so the whole family went and had a blast. Here are some pictures. Robbie did really well and didn't get too hot. As you can see, we kept him in his diaper for most of the day. Needless to say, after a full day of all the noise, stimulation and fresh air, he slept all night! We loved a full night's sleep because Kent and I were soar from a full day of riding and walking. Man, we are getting old! Enjoy the pictures! Reece and Nathan after riding "The Wave" Reece must have ridden this ride at least 4 times!

Who doesn't love a baby in a hat? I think this hat is for a 12 month old......um... it fits him pretty good....BIG HEAD!! He is so fun to interact with....he is cooing so much...he wants to talk so bad!Enjoy the fun pictures of him in his hat. He is sitting in the Bumbo chair...it's good for him because it forces him to use those neck muscles and hold his head up! SO CUTE! He looks so deep in thought here... and starting to get tired....not holding himself up anymore.

3 Months Old Today!

Wow, time sure does fly! We can't believe our little man is 3 months old already. He is just growing and growing. He loves going to Daycare and playing with his friends Lauren and Ryan. He also gets to see his cousins down in St. Peter one day a week. He's still not sleeping through the night but we are hoping one of these days it will happen. The longest he's made it is 6.5 hours...not too bad! We can't wait to see him change and continue to grow. He is smiling all the time...he's such a miracle. We love this little man so much!

4th of July Weekend!

We had a wonderful 4th of July weekend. Thank you everyone for all the birthday wishes. I had a great birthday. Here are some of the great pictures from the weekend. I have to tell you that Robbie was a champ! I wasn't sure how he was going to do with the fireworks display on Saturday. Well, no worries here. He slept through the whole thing. Yes, I have had his hearing screened. He is fine! He really just slept through them. I guess we are pretty lucky! I will say I find it odd though, I have made much softer noises and he has been startled by those small sounds. So maybe he was just wiped out from all the outside time with his nieces and nephew earlier that day. I wish I would have gotten more pictures but didn't do a very good job this weekend. We were so busy with all the festivities and a wedding also. Enjoy the pictures.

2 month Doctor Visit

On Friday June 26th we took Robbie to his 2 month check-up. The doctor said he is growing great and everything looks fine. She said that he is a very proportioned baby. I guess that's a good thing. At least he doesn't have a small body and then a huge head, right? The majority of his measurements were right in the 50th percentile. He weighed in at 11lbs. 14oz. He got 3 immunizations. The shots were administered in his 2 cute little thighs. I knew I wouldn't be able to handle it so thank god Kent was there. The nurses had Kent hold his arms while they each did one shot in each leg at the same time. It went really quick and they said he did a great job. I heard him scream all the way down the hall but once they were done, Kent soothed him and he was fine! What a trooper!!!
He is growing out of his "newborn" outfits quickly. I decided to play a little dress up today with the adorable little monkey bibs my sister Paula bought him. Aren't they cute? Thanks Auntie Paula!
I think he hates the camera. I would get him to smile at me and then the second my camera would get into focus he would stop smiling. Oh well, I caught a few good pictures of him ..although not as cute if he would have been smiling when the lens finally clicked. Check 'em out.

Pretty soon Robbie will be big enough to carry Pooh Bear around.

Daycare

On Wednesday June 24th I went back to work. Which means, I had to drop Robbie off to stay with his soon to be"2nd Mommy". Robbie is staying with a very good friend of mine while Kent and I work. I cried almost the whole way down to work. It's a good thing I have an hour drive, my eyes would have been very puffy if it were a shorter drive. Angie is an amazing Mother and I know she will take good care of "Robs" (as her son Ryan has already given him a nickname). It will be so good for him to be around such good kids. He gets so much interaction and stimulation. I can't thank you enough Ang!

Our little man is 2 months old already! We can't believe it! This picture was taken at my dad's in St. Peter for Father's Day! Look how big he's getting. He's growing so fast. So Robbie is 5 weeks old today. I thought I'd take some more pictures and update everyone. He is not a big fan of tummy time. This first shot I got before he started crying! He slept for 5 and 1/2 hours last night. I hope this becomes the norm. He is cooing and make those adorable little baby sounds, I love it!

I can't believe that he is already a month old. Time is just flying by. I only have one more month with this little guy before I have to head to work. I am loving every minute of it. Other than a little fussiness here and there (we think it's either gas or the formula), he has been such a good baby! We are very lucky.

Baby Robbie Update:
So we took Robbie to the Doctor on Monday for a weight check. He had gained 8 oz. in 4 days...pretty darn good! He is now back up to his birth weight of 8.8. Apparently things are going in the right direction as far as weight goes. The next time we go to the doctor will be for the 2 month well check. I still can't believe that he is 3 weeks old today. He just keeps growing and it will only happen faster. I am cherishing every minute I have with this adorable little man because before I know it, I'll have to go back to work. Here are a few recent pics of him. Does he look like he's back to his birth weight??? I think he's changed a lot since birth. So precious.....

I thought I would post more pictures from the time we got visitors in the Hospital. Thanks again to all of our friends and family who came to visit us all in the hospital. Such beautiful flowers and gifts! We took Robbie Home on Saturday May 2nd. This was the day before we took our precious little man home with us!

We were scheduled for an Amnio on Tuesday to see if Robert's lungs were developed to see if we could deliver him earlier, due to size (10 pounds). We went in and basically found out that there is only about 4.5 cc's of amniotic fluid left in there. (They normally say 5cc's is the safest level, anything below that is reason for baby to come out)It wasn't an emergency but gives justification to deliver him within 24 hours. Since I ate lunch before the appointment and there was food in my stomach, they didn't do it that day so we are going in at 5:30 am on Wednesday April 29th. They will deliver him via C-section at 7:30 am. We can't wait!!! Kent and I on the deck after the appointment, last belly pictures before he makes his grand entrance into this world!

Belly Progress...36 Week Update

So I had my 36 week appointment today. He passed the ultrasound and Non-stress test with flying colors. I got the first cervical exam today as well and my Doc told me that I was dilated to a 1 today. Although I feel like that gives me hope he might come on his own sooner than 39 weeks I still can't get too excited. My sister Patty was dilated at a 1 for a LONG time. So, within the next couple of weeks I'm hoping he decides to come on his own. My doctor and I discussed that if he does come on his own we would try vaginal delivery, but if he comes closer to 38-39 weeks, he may be too large by then so, for safety sake, we would do a C-section. I will definitely keep everyone posted! I thought I'd throw in the pictures below to see how I've/We've grown over the past couple of weeks.

So Kent and I went to the Doctor on Monday and did our usual weekly ultrasound and non-stress test. When the ultrasound tech put the Doppler down to take a look, the first thing we saw was this HUGE head. It had been 4 weeks from the last visit so we were scheduled to find out an approximate weight as well. Well, guess it looks like "our little man," isn't so little...unless he comes into this world earlier than scheduled. His approximate weight at 34 weeks and 2 days was 7 lbs. 12 oz. already!!! She also told me that size-wise, I am at full-term already. Well, well, well, no wonder why I'm not sleeping well and feel very tired!!
With six weeks to go, our doctor is guessing, give or take a little, I'll probably deliver a 9 or 10 pound baby. She is definitely going to monitor things each week. I just want to make it past the "lung development stage" which I understand is 36 weeks for boys. So I am counting down the days until I reach that point. If he comes early on his own, I'm quite alright with it! If not, she said they will let him stay in unless there is no more fluid or he or myself become stressed. If that is the case, they will go in and get him. She also said if he doesn't come on his own before 39 weeks they will probably do a C-section at that time which would be May 8th.
No wonder why I look so dang huge and feel ready to be done with this pregnancy. Don't get me wrong, I have been very lucky throughout this pregnancy but I am ready to be a momma!

34 weeks along. Baby Robbie just keeps growing and definitely doesn't have a ton of room in my short Torso anymore...I feel him move a ton. Kent and I love feeling him kick and punch. I think he's getting close to making his way into this world. We can't wait to meet you little man!

Sunday March 29th--Family/Friend Shower-Our house

On Sunday March 29th my sisters put together a great shower for family and a few friends. It was great to food and great to see all the family and friends! Thanks to everyone for coming! I received many great gifts. Everyone was so generous and I can't wait to put all the adorable clothes on Robbie. We got some great books and toys and can't wait to read and play with all of them with Robbie! Thanks to everyone who also brought the delicious food. My aunt brough one of my favs.....Pot Stickers...YUMMY!!!
Although one of the most important women in my life was not there, my sisters brought her memory and spirit to the party. I know you are always with me mom but sure wish you could have been there to enjoy the festivities. My sisters gave me a wonderful gift in memory of mom. Patty gave me items that Mom had last given to Reece. Reece was so thoughtful in sharing these things with our baby so he can carry Grandma Mary's spirit and love with him always. They also gave a few puzzles and books and stuffed animals mom had last given the grandkids.
I want to Thank Dad for coming as well!! It really meant a lot that you were there.

March 14th, 2009 St. Peter--Friends' Shower

On Saturday March 14th, my good friends Stef, Jodi and Kris threw me a "friends" shower. It was at Stef's house in St. Peter. We played a few games, ate some great food (loved the chicken salad) and dessert (Lemon torte cake from Cafe Latte in St. Paul)!! I had such a good time. It was great to see everyone and got some great gifts. Clothes, home-made blankets, gift certificates, diaper bag and so many great supplies that will help me as a first time mommy! It was so great to see everyone again. With all of our lives being so busy, I know we aren't all able to get together as much anymore. I appreciate everyone coming out and look forward to having you all meet Baby Robbie soon! I unfortunately didn't have my camera for this shower :( so I didn't get any pics at this one. I can't thank you guys enough for all your hard work! Love you all dearly!

On Wednesday March 11th my amazing co-workers gave me a shower. I got so many fun gifts. Robbie is going to be set with awesome clothing and I will be set with some great gadgets that will help me out! It was so fun to hang out with the co-workers outside of work. Kent's Outpatient Back Surgery

Kent had a discectomy on Monday March 23rd, 2009. The doctor went in and removed the bulging disc that was pressing on the nerve that was causing all his back pain and leg(sciatic) nerve pain. The surgery went well but Kent was in a lot of pain when it was all done. It is now 12 days later and he seems to be slowly getting better. He found out that there is still some pain due to a Hematoma (sp?) at the incision site. The doc said that that will eventually go away. So we are hoping in the next 2 weeks he'll feel like a different man! So far, so good. Beware, the pictures are a bit graphic!

This one is about 4 or 5 days after surgery. He is healing up nice....

We had Kate, John, Ian and Ben over for dinner last night to thank them for all their generosity of baby stuff! We can't thank them enough...I know our baby will put it all to good use!! Thanks guys!! It was so fun to hang out with you and the boys. It was a very fun evening. Just a little preview of Kent and I have to look forward to. Little boys are FULL of energy! Valentine's Day

I know it's been awhile since I've written anything on here...sorry! I thought I would post a picture of the brownies I made for Kent on Valentine's Day. We had a very relaxing Valentine's Day this year. Kent went in the hot tub and I soaked my feet. We made one of my favorite recipes by Rachel Rae--Italian Mac-n-cheese.
I got the best gift ever! Kent gave me a Sonicare Electric Toothbrush. Every time I brush, I feel like I just came from the dentist...I LOVE IT! It was probably a good thing he got me that because the brownies sure sugar coated my teeth. We warmed them up in the micro and put a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top...YUM YUM!
We ended the evening by watching a little boob tube and both crashed fairly early. Hope everyone else had a great Valentine's Day filled with love and surprises.

Jan. 17th was the weekend we celebrated a girls weekend and Angie's 30th Birthday. What would a girl do without such amazing friends? It was so great to see everyone again. Baby Bump

It's Official....IT'S A BOY!! See the second picture below...can you tell??

No mistaking it....It's a boy!!! Can you tell by the "manhood" pic??? Kent and I thought it would be a good idea to get a picture of it because we both thought we were having a girl. So we can go back and look at the picture and confirm it when we need to. I also love the picture we got today of him sucking his thumb! So precious....it's such a miracle. I am still in awe!

The Nursery mural is complete. I think it turned out good. Kent agrees but really wanted to contribute. As you can see below, he decided to make the monkey say something funny. I didn't want to paint it on so he was satisfied with writing it on a piece of paper, making it look like he was saying it. I must admit...it is quite funny! My favorite is still the Elephant. I think instead of drawing a giraffe over the crib I am going to either put "baby" in blocks on the wall or maybe the baby's name. It feels so good to have it done!

"Nesting"

So I've really started feeling the "nesting" of pregnancy lately. I've decided to tackle a mural of animals for the nursery. Here is hte start of this big project. The monkey is almost done. You can't really see the elephant and lions yet. This is a big task but I'm having fun with it so far. More pictures to come when I get more done!

WE ARE EXPANDING THE FAMILY! Molly and Kent Plus 1

Kent and I went in for our first Ultrasound today. Our first "picture." The circular blob on the right hand side is the baby's head. We found out that our due date was changed from May 1st to May 16th. We are 10 weeks and 3 days along at this point. It was such an amazing moment when we heard the heart beat and saw the baby squirm when the tech pushed on my stomach. "Yup, it's for real. We are going to be Parents." We can't wait!!

Flu....

I think I got my first taste of the flu season. YUCK! I started feeling symptoms (headache, fever, muscle aches) on Saturday and finally started to feel somewhat better this evening, 4 days later. I am just hoping that I am on the road to recovery. Hope everyone gets their flu shot this season and get your rest!

Now for the fun and exciting news; Kent and I made a reservation at Wildfire in Eden Prairie for Monday October 13....Our One Year Anniversary. I can't wait, we hardly ever go out for a nice dinner.
